Beginning Your Journey
Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions—and that's completely normal.
Whether this is your first experience with counseling or you're returning after some time away, I hope these answers help you feel a little more at ease.
Is therapy right for me?
If you've found yourself here, there's a good chance a part of you is ready for something to change.
You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.
Many people come because they're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, struggling in relationships, healing from trauma, or simply wanting to understand themselves more deeply.
You don't need to have all the answers before you begin.
You only need to be willing to take the next step.
What if I don't know what to say?
You don't have to prepare for therapy.
You don't need the "right" words.
We'll begin wherever you are.
Some people arrive with a clear goal.
Others simply know they don't want to keep living the way they've been living.
Both are enough.
Our first conversation is about understanding your story—not judging it.
What can I expect during the first session?
Your first appointment is 60 minutes.
We'll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brings you to therapy, exploring your goals, and discussing what you hope will be different in your life.
This isn't an interview you have to pass.
It's the beginning of a collaborative relationship.
Together, we'll create a plan that fits your needs, your pace, and your goals.
Ongoing sessions are typically 50 minutes, although longer sessions are available when clinically appropriate.
How long will therapy take?
Healing isn't one-size-fits-all.
Some people come for a specific life challenge.
Others choose therapy as part of a longer journey of healing and personal growth.
Together, we'll regularly review your goals and adjust our work as your needs change.
My hope isn't simply to help you feel better.
It's to help you build lasting change that continues long after therapy ends.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults through:
• Individual Therapy
• Therapy with or without partner(s)
• Adult Family Therapy
I frequently support people navigating trauma, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), anxiety, relationship challenges, substance use, emotional regulation, and life transitions.
I also provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care, including support for polyamorous, kink-affirming, and sex-positive relationships.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes.
I am in-network with most major insurance plans.
Self-pay appointments are also available.
If you're unsure about your coverage, I'm happy to help you understand your options before your first appointment.
Is therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is one of the foundations of therapy.
With very limited legal exceptions, what you share in therapy remains private.
Those exceptions include situations involving suspected abuse, immediate risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or when disclosure is required by law.
Before we begin working together, you'll receive detailed information about confidentiality and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
How do I get started?
The hardest step is often reaching out.
From there, we'll take it one conversation at a time.
You can schedule a complimentary consultation by completing the contact form or calling (501) 620-0162.
I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you begin finding your way back to yourself.
